About Us
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is a member of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, D.C., which belongs to the Episcopal Church of the United States (ECUSA). Located at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue (MD Route 650) and Brighton Dam Road in rural Montgomery County, Maryland, St. Luke’s was established as a Chapel of Ease. Although the current church was built in 1870, the history of the St. Luke’s religious community dates back to 1761, when the original chapel was built on the existing site.
