Rector’s Welcome
Greetings! Thank you for visiting our web site and learning about our church.
At St. Luke’s we celebrate a religion of journey, not destination. We face challenging issues — involving our faith and our society — and, in seeking the truth, we are led to listen to and care for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our spirit truthfulness and togetherness guides us as we travel our spiritual journey. We cherish the diversity of our congregation, which supports and upholds members from all walks of life and reflects the rich ethnic, economic, and lifestyle tapestry of our community. Regardless of your religious background, and regardless of you ethic background and social beliefs, and even if you have never visited an Episcopal church before, you are welcome to participate fully in parish life and worship services at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Brighton.
Members of our congregation enthusiastically serve Christ and serve the community in many ways. We feed the homeless, tend to the sick, volunteer for hunger walks, lead food drives, teach children, tutor adults, and simply share God’s love through our vocations. Our parish caregivers visit members of our community who are ill, our choir enriches our worship, and countless hands minister to those within and outside of our congregation. We find that as we care for others, our own spiritual lives are immeasurably enriched. You, too, will find help and guidance as you discover opportunities to care.
Our spirit of inquiry leads us to take advantage of many forms of religious education: a growing Sunday school, frequent Adult Forums, and various discipleship groups.
Members also meet at social events. Strong friendships that extend beyond the church walls are made and nourished.
If you are looking for a caring community that upholds you in your spiritual journey, as well as challenges you to serve the larger community, come visit us at St. Luke’s. We will be glad to welcome you into our parish family.
Yours in Christ,
Kathy Corbett-Welch
